As one of the highlights of the 2010 Joint CAO/CAOMS Scientific Session, the Canadian Foundation for the Advancement of Orthodontics will sponsor student poster presentations from each of the five Canadian graduate orthodontic programs.

Eligibility: Graduate Orthodontic Program Directors have been requested to select students from their graduate program who will prepare and present a research poster (IADR style) at the Joint CAO/CAOMS meeting, September 23-25 in Whistler, BC. This research should be new and unpublished.

All graduate orthodontic students are eligible including those who may be graduating in the late spring of 2010.

Scope: Posters should provide title, introduction, aim, methods, results, discussion and conclusions (if available) of the research project that the student has completed or will complete. French or English may be used. Abstracts: Abstracts (250 words) should be submitted electronically to the CAO office on or before June 15, 2010. Abstracts will be printed in the On-site Conference Program and possibly in the CAO Bulletin.

Size and Preparation: The overall dimensions of Student Posters should be no larger than 1.22m (w) and 0.92m (h). Entries may be pre-mounted, however poster boards will be available on-site for poster display. A poster may not be displayed if size exceeds these measurements.

Financial Arrangements: Each of the five Canadian Graduate Orthodontic Program Directors will notify the CAO office of the students representing their school at the 2010 Joint CAO/CAOMS Scientific Session, no later than June 15, 2010.

Each of the five graduate orthodontic programs will be awarded the sum of $3,500 to assist their students in participating in the CFAO Graduate Student Poster Program. The CFAO will send $2,500 to Program Directors upon confirmation of their participation. The balance will be sent after completion of the program in Whistler, BC.
